hi all, i have couple of new dell servers need configure disks , these servers have windows server 2012 installed on it. let me tell 1 server . one server has 6 disks attached each of 10k speed. when start server 1 disk 600gb on os installed , other disks not showing in server . went bios settings configure disks creating virtual disks on servers . later created physical volumes virtual disks in windowsserver .then showed 5disks 500gb space . far . but see 5 disks 600gb space, there 1 disk missing . when go bios see "virtual disk 0: (20gb) online " missing disk , other disks showing "virtual disk 1 : (600gb) online" , why showing 20gb disk 0 unable understand. showing 20gb in storage pools  of servermanager of windowsserver .i know storagepool shows unallocated space , but why showing 20gb allocated space when has 600gb. so, have done here deleted virtual drive reconfigure it. unfortunately entire os has gone after removing virtual disk. now plea...

i have 2 vms have 1 or more missing/broken services after upgrading integration services 6.3.9600.16384.  on 1 vm hyper-v remote desktop virtualization service missing , hyper-v data exchange service won't start.  the other vm missing hyper-v remote desktop virtualization service.  i able create service restoring registry entries vm working integration services , re-registering dlls driver, service won't start.  both services won't start return error "1083: executable program service configured run in not implement service".   tried an  offline install of integration services , didn't fix anything.  since running 2008 r2, there no uninstall available (i did modify powershell script abve link uninstall, didn't work).  i have been un-successful in finding way trick/force installer install again on top of itself. hi, yes, can capture process monitor log while starting service. maybe can reveals access denied errors or file not f...

i have simple 2 node file server cluster setup, in dmz environment , servers have multiple nics, internal ip, external ip, , heartbeat ip.  file server uses internal network.  problem having when go move file server resource or shut down, take internal network ip down well.  ideas cause? i fixed own problem, had way have configure ip's in dmz.  essentially, have 2 networks, 1 external interet traffic , 1 dmz traffic.  external nic gateway assigned , internal has no gateway , use persistent routes traffic.  pair of servers did not need talk on external network, removed gw nics , put 1 in on internal network, cluster works now, no longer have reboot server when move resource or take resource offline.
