hi tried installing win server 2008 r2x64 enterprise on dell server compatibel it. whn activating, product key not accepted on multiple attempts. there prerequisite missing?   also, different between enterprise , foundation 2008x64 servers?   if product key refused activation, means either have product key doesn't match software you're trying activate (retail keys not work on msdn software, instance), or have single use product key that's been used, or have illegal (pirated) copy of software and/or product key. so: how/where did obtain windows server 2008 r2?  how/where did obtain product key?  did coa?  are absolutely have legal copy? hint: if it's cd-r, it's pirated software. if you're absolutely have legal software, can try telephone activation. there should activation pop-up in system tray if install without product key, , can lead through process. i'm not on whs team, post lot. :) ...

i have customer running virtual machine 3 virtual servers. virtual server in question is running windows server 2008 r2 64 bit standard sp1 as terminal services server the server hardware is fujitsu primergy tx200 s6 2.13 ghz 4 core xeon processor with 16 gb ram it running vmware esxi 4.1.0 the virtual server has unlimited cpu usage , has reservation of 4gb ram. the customer running 3rd party application (32 bit) and printing on ts, around 50 users connected @ 1 time. the problem every server leave processes running in ts though user has logged off. processes not associated current session of time , can process gets stuck such windows processes or third party application. majority of time third party process makes sense thats whats being used of time. when process left running isn't being used uses 30 40% of cpu , if there few of these processes frozen can max out processor , users report slow activity. when running cpu running 1 2% occ...

how should mpio configured (if needed altogether) when storage spaces clustered? i've noticed while performing tests when mpio enabled, saw huge drop while performing sequential write ios. when using mpio in round robin mode, sequential io @ 256kb between 50-100mb/s. when switching policy of each drive failover , setting 1 of path standby, performance same test 570mb/s, same thing when mpio not configured. tested least queue depth policy , had little better performance @ 175mb/s. i test other policies mpio find rather strange round robin such poor performer in case should use paths. mathieu isabel just quick update, after tests, looks using least blocks mpio policy is way go in order have active/active configuration doesn't incur performance penalty. tengo 5 servidores win2k3 r2 ubicados remotamente, un principal y un backup en el mismo sitio y 3 servidores remotos  y en los ultimos días se presentan errores en los host que no se permiten logear con el siguiente error "el nombre de equipo no tiene la relacion de confianza en la base de datos del servidor" y al equipo debo literalmente sacarlo y volverlo ingresar al dominio para que vuelva permitir al  usuario ingresarse sin problemas. y en otras ocaciones al ingresar pero no se aplicar las políticas de usuario que no deja ingrasar remotamente carpetas compartidas pues sus documentos estan redireccionados y es como si no tuvieran los permisos necesarios para trabajar en la red. revisando un poco los foros e investigando se logro instalar support tools y me presenta el siguiente reporte del equipo dc principal: c:\archivos de programa\support tools>dcdiag /test:checksecurityerror /e /s:srvd c01 domain controller diagnosis performing initia...
