Using vhd

i plan on p2v operation. using sysinternals utility have created .vhd server want make virtual. have hyper-v running on win2008 r2 server.

question: best way integrate .vhd have created new vm? think there 2 options. copy .vhd folder on 2008 server , when vm created map hd .vhd file. or create vm replace .vhd file created hyper-v 1 have created.

maybe not make difference maybe does.

what best way created .vhd associated new vm?

do not replace vhd 1 created. not work.

copy vhd wherever want reside. create virtual machine specifying option use existing vhd. browse vhd , select it.
