windows 2008 R2 DNS _msdcs greyed out and _sites _tcp folders missing
hi experts.
having issues dns. notice in dns server _msdcs folder missing , _sites , _tcp folder missing.
our environment:
domain:2003 native
forest: 2003 native
2 dc running windows 2008 r2
i've attached screen shot
this upgraded windows 2000 2003 2008.
i seem remember dns should be:
domain
_msdcs
_sites
_tcp
_upd
i had old lab replic or our live environment took when did upgrade 2008 doman controllers , indeed see how dns configured
i have 2 windows 2012 member server lost ability browse ad objects or add domain users local groups.
i suspect has dns
all other server, services, workstations seems working fine (2008 servers, exchange, sql, etc)
can 1 please advise if the dns indeed corrupt or misconfigured , if how can resolve , check correct zones, partitions, etc in place , repair?
to throw curve ball. our domain orginated in nt days , includes "_" (my_domain) has cause alot of headaches thru years...
any appreciated.....im no expert , need deep knowlege of ad, dns , how works together..

generally, add them by command "net stop netlogon & net start netlogon",then 'refresh' ,i manually deleted them in lab , use method add successfully.
