DNS duplicated IP address confusion

i'm not running dhcp on server (so can't check if duplicate) , have noticed in dns server (under forward lookup zones -> pembcab.org) there more 1 entry ip address allocated our server. the ip address 10.42.16.1 allocated hwserver (which server) , allocated win-eovjrce2ah4. both entries listed static. i don't have lot of experience dns second entry related server? first thing: mean listed "static"? cannot see diference host(a) records registered dynamicly or manual. win-eovjrce2ah4 sounds me might temporary name assigned windows setup. might have been dynamicly registered never unregistered. another possibility record created compatibility. if in past application migrated win-eovjrce2ah4 hwserver, reconfiguring host(a) record win-eovjrce2ah4 woudl enable users use same connection strings (path) in software. in case however, recommend using alias instead of host(a) record. be aware though when considering cleaning dns records: might brake things!...

hi all, two windows 2008 r2 sp1 rdsh, rdweb, rd gateway installed in rdweb page (see attached image) there tab remote desktop , need open port 3389 remote desktop connection? thank you. hi, on public-facing firewall not need open port 3389. for outside users use remote desktop tab need specify fqdn of rd gateway in iis manager. please open iis manager, in left pane navigate , select sites\default web site\rdweb\pages, in middle pane double-click on application settings, double-click on defaulttsgateway. since have 2 rdweb servers need on both. the target host needs have 3389 incoming (remote desktop tcp-in) enabled lan subnet in windows firewall advanced security (wf.msc). -tp Windows Server > Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Services) ...
