replacing w2k3 dc with w2k8 r2, same IP

i replacing w2k3sp2 dc w2k8 r2 , need use old server’s ip because there no dhcp , client dns points current dc.  dns ad integrated. i have dns server, there backup.  olddc time server , a wins server.

 

 here steps have come with.  have missed anything?

 

run adprep32 /forestprep

run adprep /domainprep

install ad ds role on newdc

run dcpromo on newdc

install wins on newdc

config time server on newdc

transfer olddc roles newdc

run ‘netdom.exe query fsmo’

dcpromo olddc

uninstall dns olddc (or taken care of dcpromo?)

shutdown olddc

remove olddc dns, wins, adusers&computers, adsite&services

ip newdc olddc’s ip

test clients

you might also need perform following steps:

run adprep32 /forestprep

run adprep /domainprep

install ad ds role on newdc

run dcpromo on newdc

set "global catalog" on new dc , reboot it.
install dns service on new dc.
install wins on newdc

config time server on newdc

transfer olddc roles newdc

run ‘netdom.exe query fsmo’

dcpromo olddc

uninstall dns olddc (or taken care of dcpromo?)

shutdown olddc

remove olddc dns, wins, adusers&computers, adsite&services

ip newdc olddc’s ip

please note: highly recommend trying in lab environment first.
