RDS Windows 2008 R2 external access


i have installed rds windows server 2008 r2 in order test how might work in our environment. relatively small school , no more 10 users @ time access rds, installed following services on same server: remote desktop session host, rd desktop web access , rd gateway in order allow staff access few remote apps. works fine if accessed locally, however, when try access remote apps outside following error: your computer cannot connect remote computer because remote desktop gateway server unreachable or incorrect. type valid remote desktop gateway server address.

i checked event logs there not seem there relating issue.

as far understand port needs open on public facing firewall port 443, opened. have checked numerous times address/fqdn of gateway server , correct.

is rd gateway server fqdn usin externally resolvable i.e. name should publically resolvable name connection work.
