  i trying beta 2010 trial , trying convert word document pdf using save or save & send features.  every single time program crashes on me. i realized can make farther (past repagination) saving process making page layout settings same pages, still can't convert pdf.  what's more, if try converting online pdf conversion websites, unable to, , report errors well. i suspect if saved first 2003 converted pdf work, when switching 2003 format lose special text effects.  think text effects may causing crash, trouble want them part of document play key role.  possibility resizing of tables (whose borders removed) making conversion difficult. i've tried can think of point.  possible word 2010 convert pdfs?  tried opening document openoffice , converting through that, , crashed well.  updated microsoft.net framework 2.0 ensure wasn't issue.  seems serious formatting issue within office causing problems, can't find workaround. editi...

hello, having issue in proxy settings windows xp not taking effect immediately. have defined in domain ou proxy policy tells computers use 10.3.1.5 proxy server on port 8080. works fine on windows 7 pcs, every windows xp machine have settings put internet explorer correctly, not put check activate it. *sometimes* work, on next reboot unchecked again. i've tried segregating xp machine , user account in test ou, cleared settings, , applied group policy, same issue. tried creating fresh gp , showed same symptoms. leave computers alone while, or run gpupdate /force , proxy gets enabled immediately. i've tried disabling group policies except 1 well, same issue. rsop.msc , gpresult /z show policy applied correctly. 1 other odd thing, have group policy in lower ou defines homepage pcs , tells clear history , cache after exiting internet explorer. put our proxy gp place, homepage gp no longer shows in rsop , sure enough no longer pushing out settings. i've tried run...

i have setup windows 2012 cluster between 2 virtual machines (hyperv) i don't have san. when click on add disk, error "no disks suitable cluster disks found. diagnostic information disks available cluster, use validate configuration wizard run storage tests." so mean option requires shared disk (san) between 2 nodes? if there no san, can done? or file share option? val it: unit=() yes, shared disk required high availability. otherwise it's not going highly available. i having problem server support 1 of clients. server running windows 2003 service pack 2. last couple of months server seems hang , lockup on weekends. first sign of problems error 2019 in system event log states "the server unable allocate system nonpaged pool because pool empty". after other errors of services stopping start logged well. file can see using exessive amount of nonpaged memory file named thumbnailer.exe. file uses between 75,000k , maybe 100,000k when monitor in task manager. not sure problem, sure seems is. does know file is? have tried google thing find is app used creating thumbnails out of image files. have never seen file running on other server. maybe it's type of malware or something? thanks in advance help. i'd check msconfig startup tab see if can determine starts , try disabling test. afaik not part of operating system.       regards, dave patrick .... microsoft certified professional microsoft mvp [windows] ...

hello! i working company has around 2000 users. using windows 2003 ad. have changed policy requiring 10 bad attempt lockouts, down 3 bad attempt lockouts in domain policy. understand ms recommends leaving @ 10, that's not option customer due security/policies. occurring huge increase in account lockouts resulting in 675 errors being generated users after period of time. happens right away, user enters password wrong once , locked out. need isolate process causing invalid login attempts. <br><br> we have discovered @ least 1 of 675 errors being generated included user account , ip address did not match normal user's ip address. ran nslookup on address. nslookup result returned machine name has not been physically utilized on network in on year. customer not physically have machine in inventory anymore. <br><br> when attempt ping either ip or name of machine, no response. <br><br> i hoping additional here. cause behavior? confiker? next logical...
