i've read posts on "dns record timestamp replication" can find on forum, , i'm still concerned enabling scavenging on multi-server dns infrastructure, after it's been off forever. if have 3 dns servers, , different clients update dns on different dns servers, "last refresh" timestamp can different depending on dns server at. think that verifying timestamp replication @ top of any pre-enabling-scavenging to-do list. but can't be, because *timestamps don't replicate unless scavenging turned on.* so assumed solution turn on scavenging on 1 dns server, enable other dns servers replicate current timestamps *to* it, don't see timestamps changing on server2 enabled scavenging. know dns replicating ok because if create new record on server1 appears on server2. existing timestamps on server2 not updating newer timestamps of server1, after enabled scavenging on server2. if timestamps don't change on server2, going scavenged, , delet...

hi, i'm having trouble 1 of customers, server 2008 r2 standard + sp1. after 2-3 days, server starts behaving slowly, , if left long enough, remote deskto services not let log out or in. if try restart server, hang on shutdown, if use "shutdown -r -f" - power reset required server working again. there error message on screen before had power reset, didn't record it, googled it. google search led me http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2383928 , seems similar we're experiencing. however, hotfix says "the update not applicable computer" possibly because sp1 installed. does have ideas? thanks ian burgess the fix trying install included in sp1. why getting error when trying install it. can please provide more information on error see when try reboot? also, see event in event log related this? server loaded when happens? thanks!
