"Please wait for the User profile service" - Slow logon

afternoon all,

getting on windows 7 machines - seems take age logon , off.

running server 2008r2 , windows 7 machines 64 bit. have roaming profiles setup documents.

one thing seem affect size of user's profile documents etc

in event log things stands out following:

"windows cannot locate server copy of roaming profile , attempting log on local profile. changes profile not copied server when log off. error may caused network problems or insufficient security rights.

detail - logon failure: unknown user name or bad password."

 - under event id: 1521 user profile service

i have no idea why states otherevent logs prior state pc has picked ip dhcp , connected network , has dc's ip etc etc.

also winlogon warnings not info: "the winlogon notification subscriber <profiles> took 71 second(s) handle notification event (logoff)."

group policy logs / events show have completed in mere milliseconds so not group policy believe.

steps have taken:

checked dns - tested out dns fqdn , setup perfectly.

always wait network @ computer startup , logon - changed disable

i have disabled non-microsoft services , booted in safe mode - nothing helps

any ideas of should go next this?

hello deadringers, if have multiple domains in environment, make sure can file server (user profile server) short name , fqdn. if user profile path in short name (\\fileserver\profile\%username%) , cannot resolve short name, problem loading profile. can try changing profile path fqdn \\fileserver.domain.local\profile\%username%. make sure user has access profile path.
