DSCP set by Group Policy not working
hello all,
i hope right place ask question. have basic gpo applies qos policy windows server 2012 server. can see policy applied , verify looking in registry hklm\software\microsoft\policies\qos. policy marks traffic server dscp 34. starting basic here. if use wireshark @ traffic server shows dscp 0. missing? i'm running wireshark on computer on same network keep testing simple. ultimate goal mark rdp traffic proper prioritization across our wan.
thanks help,

hi scott182,
reply.
based on research, seems vms in hyper-v not support dscp.
windows server 2012 hyper-v qos provides ability to:
- enforce minimum bandwidth , maximum bandwidth traffic flow, identified hyper-v virtual switch port number.
- configure minimum bandwidth , maximum bandwidth per hyper-v virtual switch port using either powershell cmdlets or windows management instrumentation (wmi).
- configure multiple virtual network adapters in hyper-v , specify qos on each virtual network adapter individually.
in addition, if have hardware compatible data center bridging (dcb), windows server 2012 hyper-v qos can converge multiple types of network traffic on single network adapter guaranteed level of service provided each type of traffic.
implement above, need setup windows server 2012 hyper-v hosts.
