Windows 10 Group Policy Help
i wondering if me out windows 10 group policy. i have windows 10 1607 education image ready roll here testing out group policy now. i bit disappointed in lack of options having trouble finding , hoping steer me in right direction. i've done countless hours of searching , haven't been able find clear cut answers following issues.
1. "settings" is possible hide categories in "settings" menu, cannot see scenario our students playing around things network & internet, accounts, windows update, ect.
2. if 1 not possible, why selecting "users can’t add or log on microsoft accounts" not working or not greyed out completely. while ms account doesn't work sign in, other account yahoo or gmail works without issue if policy set.
3. we specify proxy in "internet settings" via control panel locked down our staff/students changing. however, can go proxy via "settings" menu , turn off proxy without batting eye (and can confirm disables our proxy). i want disable tab if #1 not option or grey whole thing out our users.
4. vpn in settings. our networking students savvy , have personal vpn's setup @ home. why can not disable/grey out setting in gpo?
5. how can hide "windows update" in settings? i have sccm/wsus server setup here our updates pushed internally. i cannot find clear cut answer on greying out windows update or hiding via windows 10. group policy makes seem disable windows update , has no clear cut hiding thing.
thank you.
1. as far know, there no such method hide/remove settings. maybe, need restrict user accessing specific settings different methods, such group policy or registry. , may hard restricted.
2. for me, seems behavior expected. when select “users can’t add or log on microsoft accounts” setting option, existing microsoft account users not able log on windows. , yahoo or gmail third party account should not blocked.
, said question 1, settings of system hard hided or disabled far. in addition, according description of scenario/environment, suggest deploy predefined or customized image users, predefine setting displayed or not in build. action might need involve consult or open case microsoft technical support: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/?ws=support
