remapped keys not working on rdp session

i have 2008 r2 rdp server want remap numlock key function tab key , r-ctrl key function numlock key. add scancode map regbinary 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 03 00 00 00 0f 00 45 00 45 00 id e0 00 00 00 00 hklm\system\currentcontrolset\control\keyboard layout in registry. works fine when log directly console of server not when connecting though rdp even when connecting with mstsc /admin connection.  have same entry added 2003 server , works rdp sessions.  appriciated.

whether keyboard mapping incorrect in terminal sessions. default, terminal services client map local keyboard layout terminal server in session automatically.

 

if using windows xp & vista client, should install rdc 7.0.

please check following local resources keyboard options in remote desktop connection, can modify registry key in local client devices, remap settings target server.

  • click options
  • click 'local resources'
  • on keyboard box change 'apply windows key combinations' 'on local computer'

Suspicious event log Event ID: 4905
