Hyper-V and Windows Backup feature without W2008R2 server licence?

hi,

i have question licensing hyper-v. if have 4 virtual machines on host windows server 2008r2 enterprise licence, can add windows backup feature on host (without additional licence - because licences used in vms).

that sounds correct.  windows server backup capability work ok while using standalone hosts.  when transition cluster, you'll want use dpm or similar.  require license dpm (or system center suite), won't change licensing on host itself.

Suspicious event log Event ID: 4905

DCOM received error "2147746132" from...
