Xfer from Windows Server Essential 2012 R2 Eval to full?

i have been testing server essentials builds. have unused technet windows server 2012 essentials product key, don't have downloaded bits, except r2 evaluation. can install fine, using provided eval product key. however, cannot find way utilize technet product key. not sure because have r2 binaries, or because product key pre-r2. suggestions?

you need either bits match key or key matches bits.  in case, technet not production, evaluation copy similar may have gotten technet.
