Event ID: 1058, GPO failed

we having problem getting 2008 r2 server apply gpos, error is:

event id:      1058
computer:      server1.mydomain.local
description:
processing of group policy failed. windows attempted read file \\mydomain.local\sysvol\mydomain.local\policies

attempts connect \\mydomain.local\sysvol fail "you not have permission use network resource".

solved:

add server1 'domain controllers' group
active directory users & computers, delegation: trust computer delegation service (kerberos only)
adsiedit - server1 properties, useraccountcontrol = 532480

hopefully has cleared-up of important remaining event log errors.

question did wrong cause many fixes necessary in first place, or 2008 r2 inherently more flaky 2003 working?

DFSR RPC replication errors 5014 1726 with large files over VPN
