Configure E-mail Alerts On Physical Windows Servers

hi,

is there way configure e-mail alerts on physical windows servers? specifying these servers physical because have had answers related virtual servers alert settings setting up.

i need guidance how, if possible, setup e-mail alerts sent me , 2 other team members when server goes down , updates have failed, or installed successfully.

i appreciate suggestions in matter.

run scheduled task trigger script ran periodically. guess, has script can monitor state , send email...
