Microsoft iSCSI Initiator failing to mount drives on reboot

i have windows server 2003 machine using microsoft iscsi initiator connects fujitsu dx80. i've added target uses mutual chap (although result same without chap) , works wonderfully until reboot. have set target persistent , bound volume properly, upon reboot fails mount drive. see few events in system log of particular interest.

early on in boot process see this

event type: error
event source: dmboot
description: dmboot: failed start volume volume51 (m:)

later on, see couple of times

event type: error
event source: iscsiprt
description: initiator service failed respond in time request encrypt or decrypt data.

lastly, , importantly, see this

event type: error event source: msiscsi description: timeout waiting iscsi persistently bound volumes. if there services or applications use information stored on these volumes may not start or may report errors.

armed knowledge of last event, tried tweak timeouts bit longer. modified thevolumeretrycount to 720 , the volumepostdiscoverytimer to 90000. these had no effect on outcome other extending slow boot process.

i've read article, kb870964, doesn't apply situation since i'm not getting point expecting network share map.

any ideas?

ok, i've got answer.  straight microsoft iscsi initiator version 2.x users guide--

dynamic disks on windows server 2003, windows xp , windows 2000

configuring volumes on iscsi disks dynamic disk volumes using microsoft software iscsi initiator not supported.  it has been observed timing issues may prevent dynamic disk volumes on iscsi disks being reactivated @ system startup.

the use of dynamic disk volumes windows vista , windows server 2008 supported.
