Choosing a switch for WDS multicast transmission

hi,

what type of switch need (what protocols / features need support etc) setup multicasting in wds?

any advice appreciated.

prerequisites creating multicast transmission

  • routers support multicasting. in particular, internet group membership protocol (igmp) snooping should enabled on devices. cause network hardware forward multicast packets devices requesting data. if igmp snooping turned off, multicast packets treated broadcast packets, , sent every device in subnet.

as switch should take, that's highly subjective. 1 person favors hp, other cisco, netgear , on.

Suspicious event log Event ID: 4905

DCOM received error "2147746132" from...
