Can I add one standard node to my datacenter failovercluster

hello,

i have 4 heavy nodes windows voses, , want add 1 more little node linux voses. have more redundancy linux voses and access csv.

is possible (and/or supported), to add windows 2012 r2 standard node in failover cluster windows 2012 r2 datacenter nodes?

it accept it, , function, not supported. cluster validation fail. if there issues without immediate answer, product support may ask remove node.

if there windows guests in cluster, may have serious licensing considerations face based on you've purchased host. might setting possible owners ensure host can never out of compliance might avoid legal concerns, i'd want actual licensing expert sign off on if me.

i'd consider trying 2 little nodes own cluster own csv, if possible. if you're working linux guests, use hyper-v server 2 small nodes , there no licensing concerns.

Suspicious event log Event ID: 4905
