WSUS Self-Update Not Working. Default Web Site Off.

previous consultants network turned of default web site in iis , pointed sharepoint port 80. installed wsus errors self-update not working , client not reporting in.

in studying it, find talking doing things default web site. well, mine off. question: best, turning default site on, changing default port 80 else - leaving sharepoint alone. or should change sharepoints port 80 else?

the issue changing sharepoints port is used in production. there policy or way cause browser change port?

thanks help,

so, how gracefully move sharepoint off port 80, can turn default site on? keeping data intact. company uses calendar. or stuck?

well, truly, *sharepoint* question, not wsus question, asking in *sharepoint* forum start. :-)

but short answer it's going involve backups of sharepoint databases, uninstallation , reinstallation of sharepoint, , restoration of databases, , possibly manual (re) configuration. problem, of course, sharepoint live, production installation, , you're looking @ potentially full day's work (read: sharepoint downtime) sharepoint migrated point can co-exist wsus.

and doesn't address question of whether sharepoint installation , wsus should co-exist on same server. speaking sharepoint installed on dedicated server; resource hog. better solution identifying candidate server host wsus.
