How to retain Windows 7 Settings and user application settings between workstation and terminal server?

we have windows 7 users connecting our newly installed windows 2008 r2 terminal servers, , need them retain same settings (windows personal settings , application settings) on terminal server profiles when connected windows 7 workstation. trying figure out best way this. thought using roaming profile, haven't used roaming profiles before, , not know if user application settings follow user when roaming profile enabled. appreciate if has experience subject matter can suggest best method can use accomplish this.

i prefer use roaming profile. alternatively, may use group policy, not easy. search result may help.
