What are your experiences in integrating Windows AD and Linux
i got job domain of 70 windows pcs , 100 linux machines.
the domains quite old, , mean samba 4 , nis old. 1 wants newer, in ad on windows side , kerberos/ldap on linux side. preferably single user-database.
question more experienced members:
should go
- windows based , use openldap proxy linux-ldap
or
- samba 4 based ad same
or
- of above linux attributes added user entries in ldap
what thoughts , experiences on this? samba 4 stable enough used in production environment? experiences having linux machines running in ad directly or via ldap proxy/kerberos proxy?
1. thsi contribution not discussion, question. better category needed.
2. samba forum better platform topics llike samba stability. infrastructure closer linux one.
3. has landed in windows server forum, recommend using windows server 2012 r2. stable , reliable. homogeneous infrastructure brings less headaches hybrid one.

milos
