hoping can shed light please.  first attempt @ delving server 2012

scenario

20-25 user environment.  local remote.

was going attempt setup vdi remote connections.

have 1 pc running server 2012 setup ad/dc dhcp & dns

second pc setup servder 2012 running vdi.

my question user cals both servers??  when setup vm's running win8, need separate licences's each vm??

at stage there may half using vdi.

i prefer run 1 server investigation leads cannot run ac/dc on same server vdi.

if has better ideas please let me know.

cal - client access license.  purchase cal client, not server.  can purchase cals either user or device based.  if have 25 users each use several devices, purchase user cals.  if have 25 devices used more 25 people, purchase device cals.

you may want consider using rds instead of vdi.  if idea offer set of applications remote users, easier install them once on single server , maintain applications in single place instead of managing multiple virtual machines.

it idea have @ least 2 domain controllers.  once things set up, can run second 1 vm.

Suspicious event log Event ID: 4905

DCOM received error "2147746132" from...
