Word 2010 crashes when re-saving a document using a different name/date and then losing all changes - why?

here's scenario:

i have typed letter , saved ltr_v1_jones_123456_160415.  i want revise letter , save version 2 different date ltr_v2_jones_123456_170415.  every time try re-save document has been edited using save as, not responding header , have wait system recover.  when in, newly saved document in folder blank changes/additions have disappeared.  v1 same originally.  this happens every time this.  what missing here i've done years , it's never happened until using 2010.  (it doesn't happen if same in excel or powerpoint.)

any thoughts gratefully received.

is happened issue? have ever made changes prior issue?

a lot of office issues caused third party add-ins. intial troubleshooting steps, suggest first launch word 2010 in safe mode, verify result:

press win + r , type "winword.exe /safe" in blank box, press "enter".

if word 2010 works in safe mode, issue might caused third party add-ins. might want go through add-ins, disabling of them, , re-enabling them 1 one find out fault one.

Suspicious event log Event ID: 4905

DCOM received error "2147746132" from...
