RDS to TS , 1 user, 2 stations, 1 TS, Printer mapping with a Thin Client

hello everyone.

i have weird situation i'm pretty sure possible i'm running wall , hope can show me door.

scenario:

a user has office.  office has front desk.

in user's office, there pc , networked printer.

there ts user connects pc in office work (which prints networked printer in his office).

at front desk, there thin client, , networked receipt printer.

prior there being thin client, how things worked:

when user connect ts, relied on rds push printer connections ts , user can print fine.  no problems here.

now introduced thin clients equation.  since cannot install printers locally on thin client, running problem.  there catches though.

right now, when user connects ts office, , tries print, works great.  calls , user has go front desk (leaving pc logged ts through rds) , @ front desk, user logs same ts same credentials , loads program print receipt.  problem:  no printers show up.  close program (not rds session) , re-open it, printers show (but more session originated in office pc)  problem because when close program, loses receipt supposed print , re-printing them pain in arse.

the solution have come this:

run login script ts server, looks @ user connecting in , gets thin client name user connecting , maps printer according name of thin client logged from.  assure users logging in multiple front desk sites multiple thin clients respective receipt printer mapped before opened program prints them , therefore able print first time need to.

my problem not know how find name of thin client (or pc matter) user rds'd ts from.

if name, write script says "if connecting xxx (thin client name) map xxx printer" , repeat each location.

my main question is:  there way vbscript determine name of computer(thin client) connected server vbscript run.

my main thing i'm avoiding is:  having multiple copies of same printer being mapped users pc in office when he's not @ front desk using thin client.  because scripts running on ts run when logs ts pc.

i suppose question be: how make printers session copy on session b same user, logged same ts , 2 different pc's w/out having open/close printer window through program first.

i know crazy question , hope worded , i'm sorry if spacing hard on eyes, never know when break paragraph off new 1 , way easier read 1 big paragraph imo.

thank or leads in right direction.

please ask if scenario doesn't make sense.

derek conlon

are these printers networked or connected via cord thin client? both thin clients in office , receptionist area? how did on ts server begin with? if installed locally on server never disappear.
