Local Disk Volumes question
hi,
my hardware hp dl380 gen8 4 146 gig disks. i'm planning install hyper-v 2012 r2 on machine , create 2 virtual machines. recommend how 4 disks best utilized virtualiation?
if leave 2 146gig 2 vms, when create vms there option disk vms placed or that. coz, on first try left 2 146gig vms , when created them presented folder should place vm files, etc...i not sure if 2 146gig disk allocated has been utilized.
i create 2 raid 1/10 luns:
- 2 x disks management os (aka host os) c:
- 2 x disks vms files d:
change default storage paths (hyper-v settings) point d:\virtual machines. store vm files in subfolders in d:\virtual machines, e.g.
- d:\virtual machines\vm01
- d:\virtual machines\vm02
this protect host os vms' files growing. , give flexibility.
