WSUS and Updates via VPN

hello,

the way have wsus setup our desktop computers, never move office, receive updates wsus, , our laptops, moving, 10-15 total systems, receive updates automatically microsoft themselves.

i wondering, since our laptops use vpn access our internal network, can somehow setup laptops automatically download , receive updates myself deploy our desktops if on vpn? same process doing desktop clients?

absolutely.

it can be, may not optimal solution require notebooks continually connected vpn until update files have downloaded, means update files being downloaded on vpn connection.

the conventional way handled setting replica server without local content store. because it's replica without content 15 clients, can put on minimally configured virtual machine. cause clients download update files microsoft (but still approvals according specifications). because update files not dependent on vpn connection, client systems can continuously download files across whatever type of internet connection might available @ moment.
