Unable to get a msi software package to push out via Group Policy on Windows 7
hi,
as martin binder says, please let know full information occurred when install software unsuccessfully? , how did assign software computers , install them?
based on description, seems want assign software clients using gpo. if assign program computer using gpo, installed when computer starts, , available users log on computer. when user first runs program, installation completed.
regarding how assign software distribution computers, can follow next operation:
- on domain controller, click start ->run, type gpmc.msc, load gpmc console.
- in group policy management console. right-click group policy object want edit , click edit.
- to assign software applications computers, in console tree expand computer configuration\policies.
- expand software settings, , click software installation.
- in computer configuration\policies choose, right-click software installation, point new, , click package.
- in open dialog box, use search boxes find application want deploy, click windows installer package, , click open.
- in deploy software dialog box, click assigned, , click ok.
