Multi-level wildcard (catch-all) DNS setup *.*.domain.com => one IP/CNAME

it known possible configure dns server "catch-all" resolving on single subdomain level, like

*.mydomain.com. in x.x.x.x

that anything.mydomain.com maps single ip/cname

however, need setup @ least "level-2" wildcard sub-subdomain catch-all wildcard system like:

any.thing.mydomain.com

or better,

item.of.any.level.under.mydomain.com

will resolved single ip, like:

node1.site1.ourcdn.com
node2.site1.ourcdn.com
node1.site2.ourcdn.com
node2.site2.ourcdn.com
etc.

=> single ip/name

has got working on windows dns server (2008 r2)

thank tips.

i ran through few tests , think found way this:

first, add new domain domain name being * (just single asterisk).

then, add new host record under * domain name of host record being being blank (thus defaulting (same parent folder) once created.  point record @ ip using.

my tests successful spent few minutes.

hope helps!
