Minimum hardware requirement for Windows 2008 Active Directory

how calculate hardware requirement new windows 2008 ad setup 500 users ?

i know there not specific hardware requirement stated in ms website.

how setup ad not overkill , on budget ?

i need setup hyper-v host 3 vm machine.

2 domain controller and 1 tmg vm.

for number of users, 1 domain controller minimum 1 gb of ram suffice. recommended not have 1 dc, don't lose yor ad databse in case fails. if using virtualization recommentd install dc on physical box can install additional controller vm.
