Delayed Write Failed Error on Windows 2003 Server during Backup

hello,

i running issue running ntbackup on win 2003 server. have 3 backup jobs scheduled run everyday , 3 failing. few hundred mb copied backup shared drive.

the error message appears in events>systems listed below.

event id: 50 

event source: mrxsmb

details: delayed write failed} windows unable save data file \device\lanmanredirector. data has been lost. error may caused failure of computer hardware or network connection. please try save file elsewhere.

the above error followed error below.

event id: 26

source: application popup

details: application popup: windows - delayed write failed: windows unable save data file \\server1\shared_backup\backup1\backup.bkf. data has been lost. error may caused failure of computer hardware or network connection. please try save file elsewhere.

 

the backup being copied shred usb drive connected server. backup jobs have been running without problems past 2 years.

 

i tried install hotfix link below got message “setup has detected service pack version of system newer update applying”.

a program may stop responding, , event 50 , event 26 logged, when program tries write data volume mount point on windows server 2003-based computer.

DFSR RPC replication errors 5014 1726 with large files over VPN
