Can you make a GPO for software installation that will only install/upgrade the software for users that already have it installed on their computer?

we have users software package installed needs upgrade. upgrade consist of full package of next version of software install on current version. if apply software installation gpo whole domain possible make computers have software installed upgraded while computers don't have installed wont installed @ all? in other words, want upgrades take place no new installations on computers don't have software.

you implement wmi filter on gpo object test see if application install... if other app install... however... method has issues, namely wmi filter and performance hit have not mention you have write the wmi query well....  and dedicated gpo required 1 application... should work.

Suspicious event log Event ID: 4905

DCOM received error "2147746132" from...
