Unclustering Windows Server 2003 R2 w/SQL Server 2005

i've sql server 2005 active/passive windows server 2003 r2 cluster need uncluster. seems me should simple evicting passive node, detatching san volumes containing databases (it'll detached since it's passive node), uninstalling sql server, , removing cluster service. i'm not active node - particularly respect windows having 1 name (e.g. dbnodea) , sql server having (e.g. database). after cluster service removed active node, can rename server dbnodea database?

you need similar to:

1) install local instance on 1 of cluster nodes
2) backup clustered databases instances
3) restore databases local sql instance.
4) you'll have synchronize logins , transfer scheduled jobs local instance.

hope helps.
