Remove CA from the Domain, Startup a new CA

the network:

d1 : win2003 server, dc , stand alone ca

d2: windows 2008 r2 standard, dc, exchange server

 

exchange on d2 using certificates d1.  i want setup d2 ca , remove d1 ca.  i have 2 clients workstations @ point using exchange testing, , using certificates d1.  so, i'm not particularly worried having recreate certificates , reissuing them d2.  are there other pit falls or can install ca role in d2 ?

no. can safely install ca instance (with new root) , decomission old ca necessary.

Suspicious event log Event ID: 4905

DCOM received error "2147746132" from...
