Network Printer goes offline without prompting for credentials after an AD user password change on a workstation which is part of a workgroup

dear gurus,

we have noticed following behavior network printers:

  • we have workstation running windows os (windows 7 or higher) part of workgroup
  • we have network printer managed windows server integrated ad domain - domain users have access it
  • a user can install network printer - prompted domain credentials able install it
  • this works until user changes ad account password. printer goes offline without displaying error message end user can see or prompting credentials
  • the printers works again if re-install of run cmd command start \\server\printer

we avoid running scripts workstation not managed (we have thousands of users that) , have fix user can prompted credentials next time changes ad credentials.

is there way force server side?
