Moving Roaming Profile Folders with Robo/Rich Copy - Server 2003

hello,

i have group of roaming profile folders on 2003 server i'd move 1 partition using either richcopy or robocopy. problem occurs because user owner of profile folder, , copy utility denied access move it.

the problem have hundreds of profile folders move, , i'd avoid going each individual folder , changing ownership administrators. in 1 experiment, when server administrators owner of profile folder, richcopy still errored denied access (richcopy.exe had administrators full rights also)

has had success moving large number of roaming profile folders , successful using 1 of these file copy utilities (or work around)?

personally, i’d suggest achieving goal backup-restore mode using build in ntbackup utility because there option “restore file permission” remain permission , ownership settings.

 

using windows nt backup utility
