Disappearing ODBC connections

we running terminal services on server 2008 enterprise , experiencing issues user dsn entries create.

we able create entry end user , test application without error.  when end user logs in, however, odbc connection "invalid" , data source name not exist application not run (it states dns information out of date , updated fails so).  mind you, tested app while logged in user in question.

this odbc points 2008 sql server on server 2008 r2.

is possible r2 server severing connection after period of time?  the odbc entry remains on ts throws above error when try configure or remove it.  we @ loss , appreciated.

thanks!

hi,

in sql server migration, have changed server name, ip address, instance, security logon etc may affect client connection? what are detail steps of migration? uninstall sql first, install new version , restore db? keep dsn setting, best way in-place upgrade. after sql server uninstalled, dsn reference database invalid @ time. might reason of connection failure.
