Adding an Boot Image (Windows XP)

hello,

i have set wds server, , made .wim file basic windows xp installation (using sysprep , winpe). when try add boot image (the .wim file), goes well, untill " task progress" screen, following message:

"boot files architecture not installed on server".

update: after added 2 .wim files on windows automated installation kit, managed add windows xp wim-file. it seems still need add install image, when try add windows xp wim-file, says "the file not contain valid install image".

is because i`ve never added windows vista .wim-file?

thank in advance,

ruud.

a boot image windows pe image containing setup files necessary deploy machine. can find 1 on windows vista or windows server 2008 beta dvd.

a captured image of windows xp system should added install image, not boot image, because want install onto target machine. can create 1 using imagex, or using wds capture utility - details in wds technical reference @ http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=81031

hope helps,

jez
