Group Policy Preference printer deployment
i wondering if can this.
we have gpp deploying shared printers each pc in our bui cilding. changed on out print server , moved printers on new server. updated gpp current print server information. computers picked updated policy fine, handful of computers keep trying connect old print server. causing each pc's print spooler crash. if run gpupdate /force, seem connect print server isn't there anymore.
is there can short of reimaging each pc? remove group policy settings each problem pc , let them reapply, hoping solves problem.
any other suggestions appreciated. oh each pc running windows 7 32-bit.
hi,
i found post discussed same issue, may try resolution:

1. disable fast logon feature
enable [computer configuration \ administrative templates \ system \ logon \ wait network @ computer startup , logon] group policy.

2. group policy application issue may occur because of gigabit nic. please try suggestions in following steps , kb.
a. to prevent network adapter detecting link state(for windows vista/7):
run following commands 1 one:
netsh interface ipv4 set global dhcpmediasense=disabled
netsh interface ipv6 set global dhcpmediasense=disabled
for windows xp, can see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/239924
b. contact vendor of network card or visit web site obtain updated drivers gigabit nic.
examples of nics known exhibit issue:
- broadcom gigabit adapter
- intel gigabit ethernet pro adapter, intel pro/1000
- intel 82544ei-based xt gigabit adapter (82540em chipse)
- compaq/hp nic dual interface 10/100/1000 doing teaming (hp nc7170)
- dell inspiron laptops using on-board broadcom bcm4401 nic
c. a sever may have dual port nic or multiple nic's 1 port or nic set disabled. disabled port or nic should not @ top of binding order in network advance properties.
1. click start, point settings, , click "network , dial-up connection".
2. on advanced menu, click "advanced settings".
3. on "adapters , bindings" tab, in connections list, select nic clients use connect server , move top of list.
d. turning off stp can cause issues in network if loop ever develops. if running cisco series switch or other switch runs spanning tree, best leave spanning tree turned on, enable portfast on ports except uplink , fiber trunks.
326152 cannot connect domain controller , cannot apply group policy gigabit ethernet devices http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;326152
3. remove of 3rd-party software such firewall software.
4. set registry value delay application of group policy.
