iSCSI Networking Questions

i've got few questions on getting iscsi network tuned preform better...

1) i've been having issues iscsi network in iterms of name resolution , getting iscsi address on intranet lan.  i have of servers dual-nics , 1 on ther iscsi (10.100.x.x) , other on intranet (10.1.x.x)
i have 1 dc has nic in each can dhcp iscsi network.

though since dns seem iscsi address of server getting registered in dns.  in iscsi netwotk properties, have tcp/ip enabled , unchedked register in dns. though think dhcp might registering them.  causing come clients 10.100.x.x address cannot to.

whats best way besides having seperate dedicated dchp/dns server iscsi network?

2) have promise vtrak m500i 15 tb drives , great unit, though traffic going though jsut 1 of 2 controller interfaces.  since servers address via dhcp, on same physical network.  if seperate 1/2 servers on 1 switch, , others on switch, how can sure use ip address of controller on segment , not other one?

1. since assigned ip address iscsi network via dhcp server, , iscsi address of server got registered in dns server, may check if dynamic update enabled on dns server. also, please check on dns tab of dhcp server properties see if "enable dns dynamic updates according setting below: dynamically update dns , ptr records if requested dhcp clients". if so, thought correct. iscsi ip address delegated registered dhcp server.

 

to prevent clients getting ip address of iscsi network, suggest manually assign static ip addressed iscsi nic of servers. meanwhile, may remove corresponding dhcp scope iscsi network on dhcp server. doing this, easy administrate network , dhcp server won't assign ip address clients.

 

2. if separate 1/2 servers on 1 switch, , others on switch, can make each segment have dedicated dhcp server separately assign ip addresses server via different dhcp scope.

Suspicious event log Event ID: 4905

DCOM received error "2147746132" from...
