one or more selected items were not included in server backup!

this error appears every few weeks causing backup incomplete , fail. noticed operating system backed 2 drive pools (2 disks in each mirrored) ones not included in backup. backup set run 3 hours before computers backed , takes around 30 minutes complete.

my external backup drive has 5 gb available out of 1.5 tb understanding oldest backups replaced if space insufficient.

once rerun server backup config, making no changes, works few weeks before failing again. regular occurrence.

any thoughts?


it looks not backing entire disk. means uses file backup not block level backup. seems these files totally inaccessible backup. it's known issue these files should automatically excluded. https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/11872.server-backup-known-issues-and-resolutions.aspx

Suspicious event log Event ID: 4905
